ETROSS FWT-8848 GSM G3 FAX Gateway

The Etross FWT-8848-FAX is a GSM gateway to which a standard fax machine can be connected. The connected fax can send and receive faxes just as if it were connected to a traditional phone line. The device is equipped with a SIM card slot and has two telephone ports (RJ-11): 1x for a standard fax machine and another for other telephone terminal devices.

The device's telephone ports function like a traditional phone line. When the handset is lifted, the familiar dial tone of the phone network is heard, and number dialing can be performed. Incoming fax calls are directed to the device's fax port, and other voice calls are routed to the device's telephone port.

Notes for setup:

• Remove the PIN code request from the SIM card
• The operator must activate the FAX service (TS61, voice-to-fax) on the SIM card, which will assign a dedicated phone number for fax traffic.
• ECM error correction must be disabled on the fax machine
• The fax machine's send and receive speeds must be set to 9600 bit/s
