The Ultra Swede was successfully launched in 2007, and the Ultra models have been part of the Hagström catalog ever since. Guitarists looking for an affordable, easy-to-play, yet high-quality instrument have embraced this model. Now, Hagström’s design team has introduced the Ultra Max, a thoroughly improved version of the Ultra.
The Ultra Max shares the same smaller body concept as the Ultra Swede, but the Max version features a slightly larger mahogany body with a thick flame maple top. Additionally, the guitar has a mahogany glued neck and a 25.5” scale with Hagström’s H-Expander truss rod and Resinator fingerboard. Thanks to its longer scale, drop tunings also work excellently. The Custom 60 humbucker pickups deliver the powerful sound that this instrument demands. Each pickup has its own volume control, and one master tone control adjusts both pickups as well as coil splitting.
