Ratatan is a rhythm-based roguelike side-scrolling game that combines rhythm commands, strategy, and action. The game can be played solo or in cooperative mode with up to four players. On the fields, players face over 100 different characters in massive close-combat battles. The player controls their Cobun troops by issuing rhythm commands to the beat of the music and freely moving the Ratatan character around the field.<\/p>\n
Cobun troops move and attack according to rhythm commands \u2013 the player must give orders in the correct direction to the beat of the music. The Ratatan character can be moved freely, so the player decides where to issue commands, when to attack, and when to retreat. Rhythm sense and tactical thinking determine how many Cobuns survive through long adventures.<\/p>\n
When the player stays in rhythm long enough, the team enters Fever Mode. The background music changes dynamically, and the Cobuns break into intense dance moves that enhance their actions. In multiplayer, simultaneous Fever Mode by all players takes the intensity to the peak.<\/p>\n
