This tire has seen improvements in both rolling efficiency and puncture protection thanks to its innovative new casing structure. The new dual-layer 2\/220 tpi casing enhances sidewall durability against cuts while maintaining flexibility for a smoother ride. You&#8217;ll also find familiar and trusted technologies, such as Vectran puncture protection and the Lazer Grip micro-profile, which delivers unique grip and reliability during cornering.<\/p>\n<p>According to Continental, this new model is 20% faster, offers 28% better sidewall protection, and is lighter by 50-70 grams depending on the size.<\/p>\n<p>Vectran is a patented puncture protection developed by Continental that is lighter, more flexible, and provides better protection than comparable nylon puncture protection. It does not compromise the tire&#8217;s rolling resistance. Vectran is a liquid crystal polymer (LCP), similar to spider silk, spun from molten Vectra liquid polymer and further processed into a multi-strand thread.
