The Zoom M3 is a shotgun microphone equipped with internal recording functionality. This microphone designed for camera use captures all nuances of sound with 32-bit floating point technology, so there is no need to worry about extra amplification. The M3’s special damping technology keeps your equipment lightweight and also ensures minimal handling noise. The microphone easily switches between mono and stereo modes: mono mode is optimal for recording dialogue, the 90-degree mode provides a more precise stereo image, and the 120-degree mode offers an extremely wide sound field, which is a good choice for capturing ambience or sound effects.
The M3 always records a backup mid/side file, allowing the stereo image of the recording to be adjusted afterward. The microphone also has a 3.5 mm stereo output, so it can be connected directly to a camera. With the M3 Edit and Play software, you can adjust the stereo width of the sound and normalize files for synchronization and editing. Via the USB-C port, the M3 connects directly to your PC, Mac, iOS, or Android device for streaming and recording. Internal recording works to an SDXC card, and power is supplied by 2 AA batteries, allowing the microphone to operate for up to 12 hours.
