TP-LINK Tapo C225 surveillance camera with 128-bit AES encryption for 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network. The camera features intelligent detection of movement from people, pets, and vehicles. Additionally, it can recognize a baby’s cry, dog barking, cat meowing, glass breaking, and smoke caused by fire. When detection occurs, it sends a notification to your smartphone and captures a screenshot of the situation. Screenshots and videos can be saved either locally on a memory card or to the paid Tapo Care cloud service. The camera has a motorized body, allowing it to automatically track a target and provide a full 360-degree view. Thanks to its high-sensitivity sensor, image quality remains good even in darker conditions.

When motion is detected, the camera can be set to alarm with sound and light. It features two-way audio, enabling communication through the camera or use as, for example, a baby monitor. For privacy, there is a privacy mode button on the front of the camera. Pressing it turns the camera to a position where the body covers the lens.

In January 2024, the camera received Apple HomeKit and Apple HomeKit Secure Video support (only the V2 version of the camera). HomeKit Secure Video requires a home hub such as at least a fourth-generation Apple TV or HomePod speaker with the latest software. For recording, you also need at least a 50 GB iCloud+ storage subscription. If you have multiple cameras (max. 5 units), you need a 200 GB subscription. A 2 TB storage subscription supports an unlimited number of cameras.
