The SmallRig 5955 Cage Basic Kit is designed for Canon EOS R6 Mark III and R6 Mark II cameras to improve handheld shooting stability, portability, and accessory use. The setup provides robust protection for the camera and versatile mounting options for various shooting scenarios.
The series includes HawkLock quick-release connections that enable fast and secure attachment of accessories. The cage features an H21 quick-release NATO rail, an H38 Arca-Swiss quick-release plate, and a wide selection of 1/4″-20 and 3/8″-16 threads and locating holes, including ARRI 3/8″-16 locating holes. Additionally, cold shoe mounts, NATO rails, QD connectors, and strap slots are available to support the use of monitors, microphones, tripods, follow focus systems, and handles.
The cage attaches to the camera with one 1/4″-20 screw on the base and two locating blocks on the sides. Built-in silicone pads protect the camera body from scratches and ensure a snug fit. The base-integrated Arca-Swiss quick-release plate allows direct attachment to Arca-type tripods as well as DJI RS 2, RSC 2, RS 3, RS 3 Pro, RS 4, and RS 4 Pro stabilizers, facilitating quick transitions between handheld, tripod, and stabilizer use.
The ergonomic HawkLock quick-release top handle with silicone padding improves grip and stability during handheld shooting. The included HDMI and USB-C cable clamp locks with a single thumb screw to help prevent cable disconnection and signal loss.
Note: Not compatible with the DJI RS 4 Mini gimbal.
When used with the Canon R6 Mark II, the Cage 5955 is not compatible with the included cable clamp. A separately sold cable clamp 2981 is required for this setup.
