The Shelly Pro3 EM is a three-phase energy meter that measures energy in three individual phases using current transformers, supporting loads up to 120 A with 99% accuracy. The device reports accumulated energy in real time as well as instantaneous voltage, current, and power factor per phase. It stores data in non-volatile memory, which can be retrieved for up to 60 days at 1-minute intervals.
The Shelly Pro 3EM is designed for DIN rail installation and comes with three current transformers. The device reports power measurement (W), voltage measurement (V), current measurement (A), and power factor (PF) in real time and stores measurements locally for up to 60 days and for 365 days when connected to the Shelly Cloud app. The device also meets the IEC 62053-21 standard requirements with class B equivalent accuracy (maximum 1% deviation). The Shelly Pro 3EM features a built-in real-time clock that maintains time and date if the SNTP server connection is lost.
The Shelly Pro 3EM can be connected to the Internet or a local 2.4 GHz WiFi network. Additionally, the device has built-in Bluetooth, as with all Pro and Plus devices, enabling the Shelly Pro 3EM to act as a gateway to other Shelly Bluetooth devices. The device operates locally without a connection to Shelly Cloud, but activating this connection is recommended to facilitate data storage and enhance functionality. The device can also communicate via MQTT, HTTP, and WebSocket. Furthermore, the Pro 3EM supports the MODBUS bus, allowing easy and fast deployment in existing industrial installations.
The device is equipped with 2nd generation hardware, which includes a powerful ESP32 processor and enhanced safety features such as overheating, overcurrent, overvoltage, and overload protection. It also enables the use of scripting functions for advanced and customized operations, as well as range extension functionality with the device.
Note that the Shelly Pro 3EM does not have a built-in dry contact relay like the older Shelly 3EM. Instead, a Shelly Pro Add-On module can be connected for switching up to three phases.
Shelly’s smart home products support Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant virtual assistants. In addition to these, several other smart home systems/platforms are supported (check product-specific compatibility). Shelly products connect to wireless Wi-Fi networks and do not require a separate home automation controller to operate.
Note, installation must be performed only by a certified electrician.
