The Shelly 2L Gen3 is a WiFi-controlled dual-channel relay that operates without a neutral wire. This makes it especially suitable for controlling lights in situations where there is no neutral wire behind the switch. The device offers two separate relay channels, allowing you to easily and flexibly control different lighting fixtures or fans.
The Shelly 2L Gen3 includes two built-in relays: The O1 channel supports 1.2 A and is mainly suitable for 230 V incandescent bulbs and LED lights without a transformer. The O2 channel supports 3 A and is also suitable for low-voltage lamps, fluorescent tubes, and fans. Both relays can be controlled separately via a switch or the Shelly Smart Control app.
The device operates on 220–240 V AC, and the included bypass resistor must be installed in parallel with the load to meet the minimum load requirement of 5 W. When using fluorescent tubes, the bypass resistor is not necessary. The Shelly 2L Gen3 is easy to install and control through the Shelly Smart Control app or integrate with popular smart home systems like Google Home, Apple HomeKit, Amazon Alexa, and many others.
The device operates entirely locally without the need for cloud services or a separate control unit. The built-in web server allows schedules and other settings to be retained even if the network connection is lost. The relays function as standard switch relays, so they can also be used without an internet connection with traditional switches.
The Shelly 2L Gen3 connects to a 2.4 GHz WiFi network and also includes Bluetooth connectivity, enabling it to act as a gateway for other Shelly devices. The device supports MQTT, HTTP, and WebSocket protocols as well as encrypted TLS connections, providing a reliable and versatile smart home connection.
The device is Matter-certified, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of smart home systems. As part of the Shelly ecosystem, it offers extensive possibilities to expand and manage your home automation easily.
