The Roland Mood Pan is an electronic hand percussion instrument designed for easy and intuitive music-making, even without prior experience. It lets you create calming and diverse soundscapes right in your lap by tapping its touch-sensitive pads. Combining the vibe of traditional acoustic handpans with electronic versatility, the Mood Pan allows you to explore various tones and scales effortlessly.
The Mood Pan features nine touch-sensitive pads playable with your fingers. You can also use the sides with your palms to produce percussion sounds and resonances. Playing is simple since the pads are tuned to different scales, making it nearly impossible to hit a wrong note. A special control pad adds expressiveness to certain sounds, enriching your performance.
It includes several preset sounds such as handpan, tongue drum, gamelan, singing bowl, and other acoustic percussion tones. Additionally, there are four user slots where you can load different sound variations using the Mood Pan Plus app. Twelve tuning styles offer authentic cultural sound options.
The Mood Pan offers 13 effects like auto wah, phaser, ring modulator, delay, phonograph, pitch shifter, and reverb, which you can combine to add depth and life to your playing. The background music feature includes four modes suitable for mornings, evenings, relaxation, and yoga. You can choose soft synthesizer pads, didgeridoo, and nature sounds as accompaniment.
It also functions as a Bluetooth speaker, allowing you to stream music from your mobile device, making it a versatile audio device.
The instrument has a 3.5 mm headphone/line output for quiet playing with headphones. Through the USB-C port, it works as a MIDI controller for computers and mobile devices. Bluetooth 4.2 supports both audio streaming and MIDI connections, enabling wireless music playback and control.
The Mood Pan Plus app expands the instrument’s capabilities, letting you select sounds, adjust pad sensitivity, and load additional tones into user slots.
