The camera’s new GR LENS 18.3 mm F2.8 28mm lens (35 mm equivalent) uses a seven-element, five-group construction. The lens offers high contrast and sharpness across the entire image area while minimizing distortion and chromatic aberration. The back-illuminated APS-C CMOS sensor and updated GR ENGINE 7 image processor enable approximately 25.74 megapixel resolution and good performance in low light, with ISO sensitivity reaching up to 204,800.
The five-axis image stabilization reduces camera shake by up to six shutter steps, helping to capture sharp images even when shooting handheld. The camera’s startup time has been shortened to about 0.6 seconds, and autofocus is fast and accurate even in low light. The focusing system uses on-sensor phase detection, improving focus speed and reliability.
The Program Auto Ex mode allows quick exposure adjustments via front and rear dials. Snap Distance Priority AE (Sn) mode emphasizes depth of field. There are 12 Image Control effects and a Cinema mode available to give photos a classic cinematic tone with yellow or green hues. The camera also features a dust removal system combining an antistatic coating and ultrasonic vibration.
The Ricoh GR IV saves images to internal 53 GB memory or a microSD card. The camera features a 3.0-inch touchscreen with a resolution of approximately 1,037,000 dots. Wireless connections via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi facilitate image file transfer and remote camera control. Additionally, the camera supports USB-C and HDMI ports.
