The Kingston IronKey™ Keypad 200 is a versatile USB flash drive that features device encryption and an alphanumeric keypad for easy PIN code entry, making it compatible with any operating system.
The KP200 employs 256-bit XTS-AES hardware-based encryption, ensuring your data is well-protected. It’s certified to meet level 3 of the FIPS 140-3 standard (pending), enhancing its security features even further. The device’s circuitry is coated with a special epoxy layer, making it nearly impossible to tamper with the components without causing damage. This tough epoxy helps thwart attacks on semiconductor components. In case of any tampering attempts, visible signs are designed to alert the owner. The device also includes protection against password guessing and BadUSB attacks, safeguarded by digitally signed firmware. The alphanumeric keypad is covered with a polymer layer that protects the keys while concealing any analysis based on fingerprints left on the keys.
The KP200 features a built-in rechargeable battery that allows you to unlock the storage device without needing any software, after which it can be connected to any device that supports USB Type-A mass storage. This gives users maximum freedom to choose between different platforms and operating systems.
Multiple PIN codes can be activated (for both the admin and user). The keypad allows you to set easy-to-remember yet hard-to-guess alphanumeric PIN codes for both the admin and user. The admin can reset the user’s PIN code and allow access to the flash drive if the user forgets their PIN or if the device locks due to reaching the maximum allowed login attempts of 10. If both the admin and user PIN codes are enabled, the KP200 will lock the user’s PIN code after 10 incorrect attempts; if the admin’s PIN code is entered incorrectly 10 consecutive times, the password guessing protection will erase the memory contents along with the encryption keys, irreversibly destroying the data and resetting the device.
This storage device also offers two read-only modes (or write protection): a general mode set by the admin and a session-specific mode set by the user. These read-only modes can protect the memory from malware originating from untrusted systems. Additionally, the admin can upload content and set it to general read-only mode, allowing the user to view the information but not make changes to it.
