The DJI RS 5 Combo is a gimbal designed for stable and controlled filming, combining intelligent tracking, precise balancing, and a lightweight structure. It offers the videographer stability, reliable control, and powerful working features for various situations. The new suitcase handle makes control easier, and fast charging along with longer battery life ensures uninterrupted shooting. The combo version includes accessories such as an electronic suitcase handle and a tracking module, expanding the gimbal’s usability.
The DJI RS 5 utilizes the RS Enhanced Intelligent Tracking module, allowing the subject to be framed and selected directly from the touchscreen. The system can track a person up to 10 meters away and can relocate the subject if it temporarily moves out of the frame. It supports special tracking modes for people, vehicles, and pets.
The fifth-generation stabilization algorithm combined with 50 percent higher peak motor torque than before provides smooth footage during various movements such as walking, running, and vertical filming.
The RS 5 weighs 1.46 kilograms with the battery handle and quick-release plates but can still carry camera equipment up to 3 kilograms. The compact design supports vertical shooting without accessories and works well with most mirrorless cameras. This offers flexibility in building different shooting setups.
The new electronic suitcase handle makes it easier to operate the device with one hand. With the joystick and buttons, the user can precisely control the gimbal and camera from different angles. The RS 5 also supports a Bluetooth remote shutter compatible with Sony, Canon, Nikon, as well as selected Panasonic and Fujifilm cameras.
The standard battery offers about 14 hours of standby time and fully charges in one hour. Charging is 60 percent faster than the previous model, and the usage time has increased by 15 percent. The available BG70 high-capacity battery handle can extend standby time up to 30 hours and supports 45-watt PD fast charging.
Fine-tuning knobs and Teflon intermediate layers enable smooth and precise balancing even with heavier setups. Second-generation automatic axis locks make transport easier and speed up setup, as they unlock immediately when the device powers on.
The third-generation native vertical shooting design allows quick transitions from horizontal to vertical shooting. Double-layer quick-release plates enable flexible switching between the gimbal and tripod without rebalancing.
The RS 5 also supports DJI Focus Pro motors, which allow control of zoom and focus. Additionally, support for DJI SDR transmission enables HD streaming and remote control for small production teams.
