NANOGRID AIR is a wireless and automatically operating accessory connected to a smart electricity meter, offering a cost-effective and dynamic load balancing solution. Designed to be compatible with the award-winning and easily portable CTEK NJORD® GO electric vehicle charger, this solution protects your main fuse and automatically adjusts and optimizes the power available for charging your electric vehicle.
Wireless load balancing – made easy
NANOGRID AIR automatically and safely balances your home’s energy load at any time of day, allowing you to charge your electric car while ensuring that other devices in your home receive the power they need. It communicates with the NJORD® GO EV charger via your home Wi-Fi network, ensuring that the main fuse of your property does not blow during electric vehicle charging.
This easy-to-install and smart load balancing solution connects to your property’s own smart electricity meter through its P1 or HAN port. The device settings are managed with the same CTEK APP used for controlling the NJORD® GO, so all your electric vehicle charging management is handled through a single dedicated application. Energy data from the smart meter or NJORD® GO can also be retrieved in real-time as JSON files through your home’s local area network (LAN), making them available for third-party applications such as smart home systems.
Since the NJORD® GO is a portable charger, you can install one NANOGRID™ AIR at home and another at your vacation property if needed — and you only need a smartphone and Wi-Fi connection to manage them.
What is load balancing?
A load balancing system monitors your home’s electricity consumption, adjusting the power usage of the CTEK electric vehicle charger to prevent the main fuse from blowing and to avoid grid overload. If your home uses more electricity than usual, dynamic load balancing automatically directs the electric vehicle charger to use less power. When the home’s power demand decreases, such as typically during the night, the load balancing system directs more power to the electric vehicle charger.
