Vectran is a patented puncture protection developed by Continental that is lighter, more flexible, and provides better protection than comparable nylon puncture protection. It does not compromise the tire’s rolling resistance. Vectran is a liquid crystal polymer (LCP), similar to spider silk, spun from molten Vectra liquid polymer and further processed into a multi-strand thread. Like spider silk, Vectran resists tearing exceptionally well while remaining lightweight.
