The Continental Grand Prix 5000 AllSeason TR is the most durable tire in the GP5000 series. The All Season model features an even grippier Black Chili rubber compound, providing reliable traction in cold and wet conditions. The dual-layer 2/220 tpi casing improves sidewall durability against cuts while being more flexible and therefore rolls better. Vectran puncture protection adds extra safety, and the Lazer Grip micro profile offers unique grip and reliability in cornering. The tire’s sidewall has a black reflective strip that enhances visibility in low light. The AllSeason is also compatible with hookless rims. Like other top Continental tires, the GP5000 AllSeason is made in Germany.
The 35mm version is an excellent choice for gravel bikes that primarily ride on asphalt. Thanks to the thicker tread compared to the standard 5000 series tire, it is more reliable even on occasional visits to gravel roads.
Vectran is a puncture protection developed and patented by Continental, which is lighter and more flexible while providing more effective protection than comparable nylon puncture protection. It does not compromise the tire’s rolling resistance. Vectran is a liquid crystal polymer (LCP), similar to spider silk, and is spun from melted Vectra liquid polymer and further processed into multi-strand yarn. Like spider silk, Vectran resists tearing very well while remaining lightweight.
