The Celestron Origin is a telescope designed for astrophotography. It locates desired objects, takes photos, and automatically processes the astro images so you can see stunning results immediately! The finished image forms in real-time on your phone screen and sharpens as the exposure time increases and more images are combined.
The camera features Sony’s latest Starvis 2 CMOS technology. This advanced sensor offers 8.4 megapixels, very fine 2.0 μm² pixels, and a modern 16:9 aspect ratio, providing higher resolution and sensitivity. The resolution is matched to Origin’s fast f/2.2 RASA optics, so the 678C camera captures fine details of galaxies, nebulae, and star clusters.
The Celestron Origin is a complete package for astrophotography, also considering camera cooling and heating to prevent lens elements from fogging. Image capture can be scheduled so you can photograph the exact celestial object at the perfect moment.
Image files can be transferred individually from the device to a computer via USB connection. If you are a more advanced hobbyist and have previously processed images with free software like Deep Sky Stacker or user-friendly Affinity Photo, this is also possible with the Celestron Origin.
Multiple users can use the Origin app to view the telescope’s live feed simultaneously. You can also stream the view to a smart TV or save and share it immediately.
Compatibility: iOS 16 or later and Android 12 or later.
