The Celestron EclipSmart solar filter turns a compatible Celestron Schmidt-Cassegrain or EdgeHD telescope into a safe solar telescope. The filter is suitable for observing the Sun and following solar eclipses when you want to view the Sun in its natural yellowish and clear appearance.
The EclipSmart filter uses Celestron’s Solar Safe filtering technology, which protects your eyes from harmful solar radiation, including infrared and UV rays. The filter blocks 99.999% of visible light and meets the ISO 12312-2 standard for direct solar viewing.
The filter is designed according to the telescope’s lens cap dimensions, ensuring a snug fit. Included are two adhesive safety straps and four self-adhesive pads that hold the filter securely in place and reduce the risk of the filter accidentally detaching during observation.
Note! Always ensure before use that the solar filter is intact and securely attached to the front of the telescope. Never look at the Sun through a telescope without a proper solar filter.
