The Canon RF 7-14 mm F2.8-3.5 L STM fisheye lens is the world’s first 190-degree fisheye zoom lens, offering two different fisheye perspectives for full-frame EOS R system cameras. The lens produces a circular 7 mm fisheye image as well as a 14 mm diagonal fisheye image, making it versatile for both photography and videography. Its lightweight design and fast STM autofocus make it a convenient companion for dynamic shooting and challenging conditions.
This lens covers up to a 190-degree view, enabling unique and impactful ultra-wide-angle images. The 7 mm focal length circular fisheye produces images with an equidistant projection that can easily be converted into 2D 180-degree VR videos using Canon’s EOS VR Utility software. The 14 mm focal length, on the other hand, offers a full-frame diagonal fisheye that fills the frame.
The bright f/2.8–3.5 aperture allows shooting in low light and capturing moving subjects. The STM focusing motor ensures smooth and fast focus for both photos and videos. The lens focuses as close as 15 cm, enabling creative close-ups and striking fisheye effects.
Aspherical and UD lens elements ensure sharpness and quality across the entire image area. The L-series design is dust- and moisture-resistant, making the lens suitable for demanding use. The drop-in filter system allows the use of circular polarizers and adjustable ND filters, adding creative possibilities for light control.
The lens is well suited for capturing skateboarding, BMX, and snowboarding, as well as starry skies and expansive natural landscapes. Its lightweight 476-gram weight makes it easy to carry, and it is also suitable for handheld shooting, drone, or rig-mounted filming.
