The EOS R100 camera features a 24.1-megapixel APS-C sensor, which is several times larger than those in high-end smartphones, resulting in correspondingly better image quality. Thanks to the large sensor, colors and details are reproduced accurately even in low light. The camera can also shoot with a natural and beautifully soft background blur (bokeh) that highlights the main subject.

The EOS R100 camera includes the intelligent autofocus system familiar from the EOS R system. The Dual Pixel CMOS system quickly and precisely detects the subject and even tracks people’s eyes, whether using the viewfinder or the LCD screen. This ensures the camera is always ready to focus on what matters most wherever the action happens. With single-shot autofocus, the EOS R100 shoots at 6.5 frames per second. With continuous autofocus, the shooting speed is 3.5 frames per second.

The easy-to-use EOS R100 offers better video quality (4K/25p) than smartphones or many DSLR cameras, along with the benefits of the EOS R system. It can record Full HD video at 60 frames per second and 720p video at 120 frames per second, making it suitable for slow-motion videos and helping to boost creativity in, for example, holiday videos. The reliable Dual Pixel CMOS autofocus supports face detection and eye tracking even when recording in Full HD resolution.

Smooth connectivity and content sharing

Thanks to Wi-Fi support and always-on Bluetooth 4.2 connectivity, photos and videos can be easily transferred from the camera to a smartphone using the Canon Camera Connect app. The app also allows remote control of the camera, and Bluetooth enables easy operation with a remote control (BR-E1) or smartphone — a perfect feature for group photos and videos.

The package includes an 18-45 mm IS STM lens with image stabilization, suitable for many situations, so you can start shooting right away. It also includes an RF-S 55-210 mm F5-7.1 IS STM telephoto lens. Many lenses are available for Canon’s RF mount, and with a separately purchased adapter, you can use a wide range of Canon EF lenses.
