The EOS R100 camera features a 24.1-megapixel APS-C sensor, which is several times larger than those in high-end smartphones, resulting in correspondingly better image quality. Thanks to the large sensor, colors and details are reproduced accurately even in low light. The camera can also capture images where the main subject stands out naturally beautifully from a softly blurred background (bokeh).

The EOS R100 camera includes the intelligent autofocus system familiar from the EOS R system. The Dual Pixel CMOS system quickly and precisely recognizes the subject and even tracks people’s eyes, whether using the viewfinder or the LCD screen. This ensures the camera is always ready to focus on what matters most. With single-shot autofocus, the EOS R100’s shooting speed is 6.5 frames per second. With continuous autofocus, the shooting speed is 3.5 frames per second.

The easy-to-use EOS R100 offers better video quality (4K/25p) than smartphones or many DSLR cameras, along with the advantages of the EOS R system. It can record Full HD video at 60 frames per second and 720p video at 120 frames per second, making it suitable for slow-motion videos and helping to boost creativity, for example, in holiday videos. The reliable Dual Pixel CMOS autofocus supports face detection and eye tracking even when recording in Full HD resolution.

The device offers a comfortable grip, and its electronic viewfinder, intuitive controls, and guided user interface make the camera easy to use. Additional help is provided by the Creative Assist mode, which makes adjusting background blur, brightness, contrast, and color balance simple.

Various accessories are available for the camera, including innovative RF lenses, microphones, and Speedlite flash units, offering more opportunities to express your creativity. The camera is compatible with Canon’s RF and RF-S lenses, enabling you to shoot distant subjects or get creative with a large aperture.

Smooth connectivity and content sharing

Thanks to Wi-Fi support and an always-on Bluetooth 4.2 connection, photos and videos can be easily transferred from the camera to a smartphone using the Canon Camera Connect app. The app also allows remote control of the camera, and the Bluetooth connection makes it easy to operate the camera with a remote control (BR-E1) or smartphone—an ideal feature for group photos and videos.

The package includes an 18-45 mm IS STM lens with image stabilization, suitable for many situations, so you can start shooting right away. Many lenses are available for Canon’s RF mount, and with a separately purchased adapter, you can use a very wide selection of Canon EF lenses.
