The Boss PX-1 Plugout FX combines the classic effects of several BOSS compact pedals into one versatile and customizable device. It allows the player easy access to a wide range of authentic pedal tones, which can be quickly switched and edited. The PX-1 offers creative possibilities for both studio use and live performances, with flexible control and extensive connectivity making effect management effortless.
The PX-1 includes 16 re-modeled versions of original BOSS compact pedals, such as the legendary OD-1 Over Drive, DS-1 Distortion, and CE-2 Chorus. Each effect utilizes a powerful DSP processor, ensuring the signature pedal’s accurately modeled tone and response. You can easily adjust parameters with familiar BOSS controls and monitor settings on the device’s display.
Additionally, more effects can be downloaded via the BOSS Effect Loader app through Model Pass purchases, allowing the effect selection to grow over time. This enables continuous expansion and sonic versatility.
Control of the PX-1 can be done with one or two footswitches or an expression pedal, and effect switching is quick with the Swap function. You can also assign almost any parameter for real-time performance control, increasing expressive freedom.
The device supports stereo input and output, enhancing the quality of stereo effects. The tap tempo function and TRS MIDI input for MIDI clock synchronization help keep effects in rhythm. Bluetooth® and USB-C® connections allow convenient effect model downloading and other management tasks.
The PX-1 uses a 48 kHz sampling rate and 24-bit AD conversion with Adaptive Focus technology, improving the signal-to-noise ratio. The DA conversion is 32-bit. The device features buffered bypass circuitry and offers both mono and stereo connections with 6.3 mm jacks.
The user interface consists of three knobs and a footswitch, and a clear 128 x 48 pixel graphic display shows settings easily. Power is supplied via USB bus or the included AC adapter.
The PX-1 comes with an AC adapter, user manual, and Roland Cloud Activation Card, which grants six months of Roland Cloud Ultimate membership. This membership provides access to a large BOSS Effects Pedals plug-in library on your computer. Accessories such as various footswitches, expression pedals, and MIDI connection cables are available to further expand the device’s capabilities.
