The Beurer BM28 is a fully automatic blood pressure monitor that measures systolic and diastolic pressure as well as pulse from the upper arm. The device also warns of possible arrhythmias and indicates if the device is not used correctly.
The easy-to-read and clear LCD display shows the measurement result. The patented rest indicator shows whether you have rested enough before the measurement to ensure the most reliable results. The large cuff (22–42 cm) fits even thicker arms. The device also notifies if the cuff is poorly positioned. It has 30 memory slots for measurement results of four users.
It is good for every adult to know their own blood pressure level. High blood pressure usually does not cause symptoms. Your blood pressure value can only be determined by measuring. Measuring blood pressure with a blood pressure monitor is easy and convenient even at home. Blood pressure is usually higher at the doctor’s office than at home. When home measurements are done correctly, their results provide a more reliable indication of your blood pressure level than office measurements. Home measurement is best done with an upper arm monitor.
Blood pressure rising with age is very common. Every other Finn has elevated blood pressure, while only one in five has ideal blood pressure. Although elevated blood pressure without symptoms may seem harmless, it should not be ignored. When blood pressure is treated in time, serious complications caused by it can be effectively prevented.
Before measuring blood pressure, avoid heavy physical exertion, smoking, alcohol, coffee, tea, cola, and energy drinks for half an hour. The measurement environment should be quiet, unhurried, and warm. Blood pressure can be measured from either upper arm. Usually, it is easier for right-handed people to measure from the left upper arm and for left-handed people from the right.
When starting to monitor blood pressure, it is good to check that there is no significant pressure difference (over 10 mmHg) between the arms. If the difference is significant, measure from the arm with the higher pressure.
The Beurer BM28 blood pressure monitor has a five-year warranty.
