The Aqara Presence Sensor FP2 uses advanced millimeter-wave radar technology that can accurately detect human presence even with small movements. This technology ensures the stable operation of home automation rules with precise and desired functionality. It also features zone detection for localization, enabling the automation of various functions in different zones, such as the bed or table area. One room can now be divided into up to 30 small zones and recognize up to five targets (Multi-person Detection). It can also control other smart home devices through ecosystems like Apple Home for broader functionalities. The sensor also includes human fall detection and a built-in light sensor. Power is supplied via USB-C (no battery/cell required).
Zone Detection: The Aqara Presence Sensor offers significant advantages compared to traditional PIR infrared motion sensors by using a single radar sensor to monitor rooms up to 40 m². Additionally, you can divide it into up to 30 zones, such as sofa, bed, or work desk. Each zone can have its own individual automation settings.
Multi-person Detection: Capable of recognizing up to 5 individuals simultaneously. The sensor can identify people in different zones and execute different automations accordingly.
Highly Accurate Detection: The FP2 can detect human presence from the smallest movements, such as chest rising during breathing. Millimeter-wave radar technology is more stable than infrared sensor detection, even when sitting or sleeping.
Control Other Devices via HomeKit, etc.: The FP2 appears as multiple sensors in HomeKit (and Home Assistant), Alexa, and Google Home. You can easily integrate the sensor without a hub.
Fall Detection and Alerts*: The FP2 can detect and notify you if someone falls in the room. No need to use devices or install cameras for continuous monitoring. The detection area is a circle with a 2-meter radius, and fall detection accuracy is >98%. The recommended installation height is 2.5 – 2.8 m.
Local Automation and Flexible Installation Methods: The sensor operates locally after installation. FP2’s automation continues to work according to the original settings despite possible Wi-Fi network instability. FP2 protects your privacy and includes several installation methods for different installation scenarios.
IPX5 and Hidden USB-C Port: Due to its IP rating, the sensor can also be installed in humid areas such as bathrooms. The sensor has a USB-C port for power supply.
*Only ceiling placement is supported for fall detection. Fall detection can only identify normal fall cases and cannot be used as a substitute for medical devices or vision. Currently, fall detection cannot distinguish slow falls against a wall or fainting after sitting.
