Aqara Hub M3 home automation controller. The M3 home automation controller offers extensive support for various network technologies, making it an excellent choice for connecting, controlling, and automating Aqara Zigbee and Thread devices.
The Aqara Hub M3 is easy and flexible to install. You can place the M3 hub on a table, mount it on a wall, or if desired, on the ceiling using the included bracket. The hub is powered via a USB-C cable or network cable (PoE support), and if necessary, a portable power station can also be used as a power source. The hub can connect to the network wirelessly (WiFi 2.4 / 5 GHz) or wired (RJ45 ethernet).
Compared to previous Aqara controllers, the M3 relies heavily on local control, so many functions work even if the internet connection is lost for some reason. The M3 also focuses on privacy and encrypted storage. The M3 is also an excellent option if you already have compatible Aqara home automation controllers. The M3 can act as the main controller on the network, enhancing the local capabilities of other controllers. Another option is to migrate all devices and settings from other controllers to the M3 controller.
Note, the product package does not include a power supply. You can use a standard 5V 2A USB power adapter. The M3 also includes Power Over Ethernet (PoE) support. It does not function as an Apple HomeKit hub. If more than 32 Zigbee devices are added to the hub, Zigbee MESH devices, such as outlets that extend the Zigbee network range, must be used. The migrate feature from earlier Aqara home automation controllers is supported by Aqara M2 Hub, Aqara M1S Hub, and Aqara E1 Hub.
