Aqara G2H Pro security camera and home automation controller. The Aqara G2H Pro combines an indoor security camera and a home automation controller. The controller can connect up to 128* Aqara Zigbee devices and simultaneously functions as a security camera. The camera connects to a wireless Wi-Fi network.
The Aqara G2H Pro is an updated version of the G2H camera. The biggest changes are a wider 146° field of view, support for up to 128 Zigbee devices, improved support for various virtual assistants, and support for a larger memory card. In addition to the memory card, the G2H Pro supports recording to a NAS network drive. The camera supports active detection zones and, as a new feature, privacy masking areas.
The camera resolution is Full HD 1920 x 1080p with a 146-degree wide field of view. By default, the camera records to a separately purchased microSD memory card (max. 512 GB) and supports two-way audio. The camera can also operate in low light/darkness thanks to IR night vision. Additionally, the camera supports Apple’s HomeKit Secure Video. HomeKit Secure Video offers end-to-end encrypted video and security. For this feature, a minimum of 50 GB Apple iCloud storage subscription is required, along with a home hub such as Apple TV, iPad, or HomePod speaker, and a compatible iOS device (iPhone, iPad). The G2H Pro now also includes HomeKit Security System support. Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant virtual assistants are also supported.
You can create rules and automations between Aqara accessories added to the G2H Pro hub. The G2H Pro instantly sends notifications if something happens. Events can also be viewed on the camera’s timeline (e.g., motion sensor detected movement).
Works with the Aqara app. Only the camera is compatible with Apple HomeKit. Zigbee accessories added to the hub are not available through the HomeKit/Home app. Does not function as an Apple HomeKit hub.
*If more than 32 Zigbee devices are added to the hub, Zigbee MESH devices such as smart plugs that extend the Zigbee network range must be used.
