Aqara Camera Hub G3 surveillance camera and home automation controller. The Camera Hub G3 combines an indoor surveillance camera and a home automation controller. The controller can connect up to 128* Aqara Zigbee devices while the device also functions as a surveillance camera. The camera connects to a wireless Wi-Fi network (2.4/5 GHz).
The camera resolution is excellent 2K 2304 x 1296 with a 110° wide field of view. The camera body is also motorized, allowing the viewing direction to be adjusted directly from the app or automated to follow a specific route. This way, a single camera can monitor even larger spaces if needed. By default, the camera records to a separately purchased microSD memory card (max. 128 GB) and supports two-way audio. The Camera Hub G3 is also equipped with AI features. Thanks to the powerful NPU processor inside the camera, it can recognize people/faces taught to the camera, certain taught hand gestures, and also pets. You can teach the camera the faces of family members if you wish, enabling it to send notifications based on recognized faces (“Pekka arrived home!”, “Unknown person detected”).
The camera can also be used in low light/darkness thanks to IR night vision. Additionally, the camera supports Apple HomeKit Secure Video. HomeKit Secure Video offers end-to-end encrypted video and security. To use this feature, you need at least 50 GB of Apple iCloud storage subscription, a home hub such as Apple TV, iPad, or HomePod speaker, and a compatible iOS device (iPhone, iPad). Furthermore, the camera includes full Apple HomeKit support. You can connect compatible Aqara Zigbee accessories to the hub, and the hub makes the devices HomeKit compatible. Usage is possible directly through Apple’s own Home app, and you can create rules and automations with other devices connected to the HomeKit system. In addition to Apple HomeKit, the camera supports Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant virtual assistants.
You can create rules and automations between Aqara accessories added to the G3 hub. The Camera Hub G3 immediately sends notifications if something happens. Events can also be viewed on the camera timeline (e.g., motion sensor detected movement).
Works with the Aqara app. Does not function as an Apple HomeKit hub.
*If more than 32 Zigbee devices are added to the hub, Zigbee MESH devices such as smart plugs that extend the Zigbee network range must be used.
