The Yamaha UR12MK3 is a 1-in/2-out USB-C audio interface designed in collaboration with Steinberg. The device offers 24-bit / 192 kHz studio-quality sound and is suitable for music production, podcasts, streaming, and online teaching. Yamaha’s UR microphone preamps and Direct Monitoring feature ensure accurate sound and zero-latency listening. The loopback function combines microphone and computer audio into a single signal for streaming. Included are licenses for Cubase AI, Cubasis LE, and Steinberg Plus software.
The loopback function combines microphone audio and computer audio, such as music, game sound, or video calls, into one signal. The combined audio can be sent to a stream, recording, or video call. Use cases include:
Direct Monitoring allows zero-latency listening directly from the device’s inputs – for example, microphone or instrument – without the sound passing through the computer or DAW software first. The function is activated by a switch on the front panel. Singers and musicians can hear their voice or playing without delay, streamers can check microphone operation before broadcasting, and mixers can adjust levels accurately without interference.
The package includes Cubase AI for multitrack production, Cubasis LE for iOS mobile production, and Steinberg Plus with virtual instruments and effects. The software works seamlessly with the UR12MK3.
The front panel features gain controls for both channels, a +48 V phantom power switch, mute buttons, headphone output, and monitoring control. The rear panel includes a USB-C port and TRS line outputs. The combo input (XLR/TRS) works for microphone or line signals, and the other input supports high-impedance (Hi-Z) instrument input for guitar or bass. The device is powered via USB and is compatible with PC, Mac, and iOS devices.
