A back-and-forth motion will not grind the spices properly. In salt mills, only dry, even-grained, and coarse salt intended for mills should be used. Moist bagged sea salt is not suitable for use in mills. Clean the mill’s exterior with a damp cloth. Mills should not be disassembled or washed with water.
