Aqara Door and Window Sensor P2 door and window sensor. A door and window sensor that can be connected to a home automation system. The sensor is Matter-compatible straight out of the box, offering compatibility between products from different manufacturers. Door and Window Sensor P2 includes support for Thread technology in addition to Bluetooth, which has been specifically developed for smart home applications to improve connectivity between accessories.

As the name suggests, the door and window sensor can be installed on a door or window, and you will always receive a notification if the status of the door or window changes. However, there can be many more use cases. Install the sensor on the door of a refrigerator or freezer to know if the door is closed or when it is opened. Install it on the door of a security cabinet in your home and always get notified when the cabinet is opened. Or place the sensor on a medicine cabinet door to know if it opens. Smart lighting can also be automated with the P2.

You can also create rules and automations between other compatible devices in your home. Create an automation that turns off the smart thermostat heating when a window opens. Compatible security cameras can also be set to record when the sensor status changes.

The Aqara Door and Window Sensor P2 requires a compatible Matter border router* to operate, such as the Apple HomePod Mini smart speaker. The P2 is not compatible with earlier Aqara home automation controllers/hubs using Zigbee technology. Additionally, a mobile device and app are required for use and management.
