The Airthings Wave radon detector detects radon in indoor air. Wave offers precise and continuous measurement of radon concentration, temperature, and humidity. An easy-to-use app for Android and iOS devices provides highly accurate information about the measurement results. By waving your hand in front of the detector, the device also visually indicates air quality with colors. The updated version now also supports the Airthings hub.
As of April 2021, a new feature has been added to the app: pollen information. The data comes from an external source, meaning the device itself does not measure pollen levels. With pollen information, you know when to close windows, use an air purifier, or air conditioning.
Radon is an odorless, tasteless, and colorless radioactive gas classified as a carcinogen. After smoking, radon is the second most common cause of lung cancer. With the revision of the Radiation Act (December 15, 2018), the radon concentration action limit in workplaces and residential spaces was lowered from 400 becquerels to 300 becquerels per cubic meter.
