The Keychron K4 HE SE is a wireless mechanical keyboard that combines the benefits of traditional mechanical construction and magnetic technology. Its 96% layout offers a compact yet full-sized typing experience, and the magnetic switches allow for precisely adjustable key activation depth. The Keychron K4 HE uses Gateron double-rail magnetic switches, pre-lubricated for a smooth and stable typing experience. Instead of traditional mechanical switches, the magnetic switches measure the press depth using Hall effect sensors. This allows you to adjust the activation depth between 0.2–3.8 mm with 0.1 mm precision, giving full control over key response and preventing accidental presses.
The keyboard features Last Key Priority (LKP) and Snap Click functions that enhance playability especially in FPS games. Dynamic Rapid Trigger responds to key movement without predefined points, and Dynamic Keystrokes (DKS) allows up to four different functions to be assigned to one key based on press depth. Analog Mode provides precise controller-like control, suitable for racing games and sports simulations.
The Keychron K4 HE utilizes open QMK firmware, enabling easy key remapping, macro creation, and shortcut programming through the Keychron Launcher web application. The app works on all operating systems and browsers without separate installations. This lets you adjust keyboard settings anytime and anywhere.
The keyboard supports 2.4 GHz wireless connection with a 1000 Hz polling rate and Bluetooth 5.2 connection, allowing up to three devices to be connected simultaneously. Internal 3.5 mm thick EVA acoustic foam, EPDM foam, and a silicone pad dampen sound, making typing noise soft and pleasant.
The K4 HE is designed with Mac users in mind but also offers Windows compatibility and interchangeable keycaps for both systems. The PBT double-shot keycaps resist wear and prevent legends from fading. Hot-swappable magnetic switches allow easy replacement without soldering.
